What to Expect
Before Booking
Before inquiring about a session with me, please spend some time looking through my portfolios and deciding whether my style aligns with your expectations. If you contact me but I feel I am not the right photographer for your needs for any reason, I will refer you to another local photographer.
Booking
Send me an inquiry using the Contact form and I will respond within 1-2 business days. I will mail you a contract/release form. Within two weeks, you will fill it out and mail it back to me along with a check that covers your retainer fee (50% of your total session fee). You may also use PayPal to pay. If I do not receive your contract/payment within two weeks, your desired time becomes available for other clients and you may have to choose a different date and time.
Before Your Session
Once you book your session, we will decide on a location and talk about the look we are trying to achieve and suitable clothing. I may also have some questions regarding who will be in your group (extended family, pets, children, etc.)
Day of Your Session
I typically arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled session time. I use this time to look at the location more closely, plan my shots, and set up my equipment. Please do not start gathering to take photos until your scheduled time. During your session, I will direct your group on positions and poses. I am happy to take photos of any particular poses or groupings you’d like to capture, so please think about this ahead of time.
After Your Session
After your session, I will choose the best images (the number of images depends on what package your choose) and deliver the edited versions to you in an online gallery within two weeks. Full payment is expected within one week of your session and you will not receive your gallery until payment has been made. You may download high-resolution images from your gallery and share the gallery with others who will also have the ability to download images. Your gallery will remain active for two months unless another arrangement has been made. After this time, your gallery will expire and you will lose access. If for some reason you have not downloaded your images by this time and you’d like to extend or reactivate your gallery, you may do so for $10/week.
Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule, there is no fee with more than 72 hours notice prior to your scheduled session for the first reschedule. For each subsequent reschedule, a fee of 25% of your session cost will be added to your total. If you have to reschedule within 72 hours of your session, even if it is your first reschedule, a 15% fee will be added to your total. Within 48 hours of your session, a 20% fee will incur, and within 24 hours, a 25% fee will incur.
These fees will incur regardless of your reason for rescheduling because it compensates me for the loss of another potential client for the time you had reserved, as well as for the arrangements I have made to be available for your scheduled time. 72 hours should also be enough time to be aware of serious inclement weather. It might be possible to move the time of the session if weather looks rainy on the scheduled session date (this is up to the discretion of the photographer), but to change the date altogether within 72 hours will incur a fee.
